Aurora’s five homepage layouts apply only when WordPress is set to show your latest posts on the front page. If you already have a custom homepage design, whether built with a page builder or coded directly, you do not need to give it up to use Aurora.
Setting Your Own Homepage
Go to Settings → Reading. Under Your homepage displays, choose A static page, then set your custom design as the Homepage. Aurora’s homepage layout selection in the Customizer has no effect once this is set. Your page renders exactly as built.
Keeping Aurora’s Blog Layouts
You can still use Aurora’s blog and archive designs even with a static homepage. Under the same Settings → Reading screen, set a separate page as the Posts page. Aurora will apply its archive layout there, independent of your homepage.
This means your homepage stays exactly as designed, and your blog listing page still gets the full benefit of Aurora’s layout system.
